Roller Rock Phosphate Grinding Mill Failure Analysis

There is a phenomenon of slurry leakage in the seal of the Roller Rock Phosphate Grinding Mill used by the ore dressing plant, which will cause a series of problems such as erosion of the inner wall and burning of tiles. Many users do not know how to solve it after encountering it. In fact, Roller Rock Phosphate Grinding Mill slurry leakage is a very common problem, but it is not an inevitable problem. Leakage is mostly caused by the daily maintenance and maintenance of the equipment. In order to prevent the Roller Rock Phosphate Grinding Mill from frequently leaking during the application process, we can prevent it in advance through technical methods. Today we have sorted out some common slurry leakage problems of Roller Rock Phosphate Grinding Mills, and summarized some prevention methods for each problem.

1. Leakage Between The Feed Tube Of The Roller Rock Phosphate Grinding Mill And The Feed Bushing

Generally, the sealing device of the conventional Roller Rock Phosphate Grinding Mill equipment adopts a packing seal. During the operation, the feed chute is in a stationary state, but the feed bushing is connected with the tank body to rotate, when the Roller Rock Phosphate Grinding Mill barrel is in the body. When the liquid level is higher than the lower level of the feed port, the slurry will enter the junction of the feed chute and the feed bushing, causing the feed port to leak.

In addition, during use, the feed bushing is always rotating, and the long-term rotation causes the packing to wear. When the wear is severe, the sealing effect is lost, which leads to slurry leakage.

In view of the above leakage problem, we can prevent it in advance by the following three steps:

  • 1. Firstly, add a smooth transition casting with a thin upper wall thickness to the feed chute. The surface of the contact cylinder is mechanically machined to ensure the processing precision and cylindricity of the contact cylindrical surface, and at the same time, improve the processing precision of the contact surface. To reduce the wear of the packing;
  • 2, VD sealing ring is arranged on the inner side of the packing seal, and fixed, which can double seal and prevent slurry leakage;
  • 3. Install mechanical seal and multi-layer protection at the feed slip tube to effectively solve the slurry leakage problem.

2. The Slurry Between The Feed Bushing And The End Cover Of The Roller Rock Phosphate Grinding Mill

There are two types of sealing bushings and end caps for Roller Rock Phosphate Grinding Mills:

One is a three-plate packing seal, one end of which is positioned by the inlet bushing and the end cap end, and the bushing is in full contact with the flange at the end cap, and is fastened by bolts, but the two are mutually produced Friction, the other end is sealed by the excess of the packing. During the assembly and operation, if the positioning of the mouth is not good, or the packing is worn, the Roller Rock Phosphate Grinding Mill will leak.

The second type is a cone seal. The end of the seal is the same as the packing of the packing. It is positioned by the stop and the other end is positioned and sealed by the pressing action of the cone seal. However, unlike the packing seal, the feed bushing and the end cap are different. The flange connection needs to have a gap of 3 to 4 mm, so that there is no friction between the bushing and the flange surface of the end cover, which causes distortion due to long-term rotation, causing the connecting bolt to move, thereby causing leakage of the cone seal.

For The Above Leakage Problem, The Prevention Measures Are As Follows:

The sealing method of the three-way packing can improve the processing precision of the feeding bushing and the flange surface of the end cover by means of abrasive belt grinding. In addition, an O-ring can be installed on the flange surface of the feeding end cover. The groove is provided with an O-type seal on the flange joint surface of the feed bushing and the feed end cover to realize a double seal, thereby solving the slurry leakage problem.

For the cone seal structure, we do not recommend this type of seal, mainly because the link bolts of the seal feed bushing and the end cap are prone to breakage and frequent slurry leakage.
